Hi,

I've just taken a look at yesterday's stats and there would appear to be an issue with Comet sales - possibly tagging/tracking related.

Having looked at other high volume clients we recorded sales for the whole of yesterday but I don't have a sale for Comet after 3.10pm so I'm relatively confident there isn't a latency issue at play.

I'm following up with Comet to see if I can isolate the problem but in the meantime anybody carrying out any paid search work may want to modify their activity. As soon as I have an update I'll let everyone know.

We've carried out some testing and also recorded some affiliate sales since late this afternoon so I'm pleased to say all is back up and running.

I'll get a full response for you tomorrow on how long we weren't tracking sales.

Hi,

Please note Comet are sending some transactions with very long order IDs, substantially longer than the normal eight digits. This is causing some issues with the formatting of the Comet reports in the interface.

I'm going to be picking this up on Monday as well as providing details of the revised tracking that has now been put in place.

Comet have implemented conditional tagging and we're monitoring this to ensure there aren't any issues. I'll be tallying data with Comet on Monday.

Hi,

Quick update further to my last post.

Comet have now implemented conditional tagging which means any sales you see in your interface are sales attributed to you as last referrer.

Data from the first three days indicates the new tracking is working successfully with conversions and earnings per click in line with the post-deletion rates of the last few months.

I'm continuing to monitor the space to ensure we're confident everything is running as it should.

Please note, all pending sales will be subject to the standard fraud referrals that have always been a feature of this program.

I'll be in contact again should there be any update.

PS, we have recorded several sales with extremely long order IDs that for some reason have knocked out the sales amount. We will be able to make manual credits for any such transactions. Comet have tweaked the tracking which should hopefully mean this issue has been resolved and I am monitoring the sales' list.
