Thread: Pontins - Booking Engine Down

    Hello All,

    Unfortunately Pontin's have been experiencing some difficulties with their online booking engine.

    Downtime was intially supposed to be for a few hours, during off-peak hours. However it seems that getting the booking engine back up and running has taken more time than was expected.

    The engine will be unavailable from Wednesday 26th March 2008 - Friday 28th March 2008.

    Huge apologies for any inconvenience caused, the site is running as normal and Pontin's are working round the clock to have issues resolved.

    Pontin's site currently states the following to customers:
    Due to matters beyond our control the facility to book a Pontin's Holiday online will be unavailable between Wednesday 26th March 2008 - Friday 28th March 2008. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused, we look forward to welcoming you back to Pontins.com on Friday afternoon when we will be able to accept your booking. Until then you can continue to browse around all our sites as these are unaffected by the downtime. Should you require any assistance please visit our contact us page.

    Hello, Just an update on Pontin's...

    I have had long chat's with danny over at Pontin's and they are genuinly apologetic for the inconvenience that the booking engine downtime has caused!

    If anything could have been done to prevent this situation then it would of have been!

    Pontin's would like to communicate this statement:

    As previously expressed we are very sorry for any inconvenience caused during the unplanned down time. It was beyond our control and we are working around the clock to fix the situation. We hope to have a resolution in place by the afternoon of Friday 28 March. Our website is hosted externally and our booking engine is hosted on the premises. We will of course continue to communicate through this forum.

    Hello all,

    A further update from Pontin's. I've been chatting things over with danny and we realise that down time has now been considerable. As a result we will be looking to address issues in particular with regard to lost commissions.

    "We are hoping that the booking engine will be up and running by the end of today, we will of course keep you updated with any developments, work has continued over the weekend to ensure normal trading is resumed as soon as possible.


    We can’t stress again how grateful we are for all the support and understanding shown by our affiliates over the last few days. We will be addressing any outstanding issues once the booking engine is back up and running.


    It’s unfortunate we experienced this unexpected down time, but as previously stated this was completely out of our hands. We have done everything possible to facilitate a quick solution, please be assured our number one priority is getting the booking engine back up and running.

    obviously this is in the buy at section too but I really think they ought to come clean on what has happened and their lack of planning/contingency

    Hi Andrew,

    As stated previously the booking engine is hosted on the premises and the website externally. They expected a couple of hours downtime, out of peak booking hours. With getting the booking engine back up and running as priority.

    Overall this has of course affected Pontin's online sales figures for the last few days. And if they could have done anything to prevent it then they would have.

    I am sure that once the issues are resolved affiliates will be pleased with what we propose to make up for the downtime.

    Once again we would like to say thank you for your patience on the recent Pontin's booking engine downtime.

    We are pleased to announce that all issues have now been resolved and as promised we will be posting tomorrow to update you on what we propose in order to reconcile the downtime.

    As promised in light of the recent booking engine issues we are now able to announce our plans for Pontin's for the whole month of April! We both realise that there have been commissions lost over the last 6 days and with that in mind would like to give affiliates the opportunity to more than make up for lost time!

    With that in mind please see the below from Pontin's

    We would like to thank you for your fantastic support.

    Pontin’s are happy to announce DOUBLE COMMISSION to affiliates for all bookings made in April. We will very simply double your commission level for all bookings confirmed between 1st April and midnight on 30th April 2008.

    The more you book, the more you earn!!!

    APRIL COMMISSION:
    0 – 29 Sales 12%
    30 – 69 Sales 14%
    70+ Sales 16%
    I hope you will agree that this is a fantastic way of remunerating all those that have been driving unrewarded traffic over the last few days! And for those of you that have yet to join or begin to promote the programme it provides an outstanding opportunity too!
