Stacey Solomon is the favourite to win this years X Factor competition (UK).

I have spent considerable time and energy in the up keep of this site since Stacey came on the scene in August of this year i.e. when X Factor started. The site ranks very well with the likes of Google, Yahoo, Bing and others for all relevant keywords.

Since Sep09 and with very little effort, I have been making approximately £200 per month on advertising. This figure is split across banners/affiliate links and adsense. However, 90% of the revenue comes from advertisers want to push their products. I have altogether 75 sites which I offer advertising space. The Stacey site being one of them.

With reference to hits the site receives. At present the figure is averaging out to approximately 20k hits per month and this figure is increasing week on week. I have seen a sharp rise in visitors since I started posting the site to social book-marketing sites and re-indexing etc...

For keywords 'Stacey Solomon' the site is positioned number 1 on Bing. Postioned 5 in Yahoo and currently positioned 25 with Google (I'm working on this!!). For keywords 'Stacey Solomon Music' and many others - postioned 1 on all engines!

I have been submitting new content/articles to approx 20-30 social book-marketing sites (approx 2-3 times each week).

I made money last year with my Alexandra Burke site (winner of last years X Factor) - News & Events | Alexandra Burke Music - Unofficial Fan Site

There is big big potential to make some serious money with Stacey. You only need to spend 2-3 hrs per week and the rest will take care of it self.

I also have a direct link to Stacey's brother.

Reason why I'm selling this site is simply down to time. I don't have the time with other work committments.

lol that's what sprung to my mind. And to be fair, I'm not sure we want to get overrun with these threads so having them consolidated seems good to me!

I had a go at an X-factor site a couple of years back, the problem I found is that it is impossible to run without investment or copyright infringement. ie any site that is going to get attention needs to show photos, and if you are going to run an honest site they need to be paid for (unless you are out and about taking them yourself of course!). I'm sure the record labels put out a handful of publicity shots but any pap shots etc need to be paid for? I also noticed that (2 years ago at least) the official x factor youtube videos didn't allow embedding.

Sure, it is easy to get round these issues, but not by spending money or by sticking two fingers up to copyright law.

I'm just curious what other people think, people seem to get away with running sites like this so maybe I'm being too cautious and next year I'll give it another go. But the idea of investing in a site that could at best be taken away from me or at worst result in me being sued just doesn't really appeal.

Besides, I want Olly to win, but we all know Joe will!
