  Advice on value for websites

Hi

I have 2 websites

Independent UK Loan Broker - FREE No Obligation Quote and Mortgage & Remortgage Broker - FREE No Obligation Quote both of which have been online since December 2003.

At the moment they're promoting leadbay and I've earned £1250 from them in the past year.

How much do you think these are worth? I looking to raise cash for a new project.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice

Peter

Re: Advice on value for websites

I tend to work on 6-9 months valuation, so £600 - £1000?

The bottom line with so many of these questions is that the 'value' is what someone is prepared to pay. For example, if someone was thinking of doing what you've done then by buying that site they save themselves doing the work. The 'value' therefore is in the 'time' saving rather than the potential immediate income.

The other way of looking at it is if someone is good at marketing but not at building sites then the 'value' is in the added 'skills' they'd gain by not having to build a site.

How much did you pay to get the traffic to generate the £1250?

I spent £200, however, the majority of the traffic that fills in the forms comes from the "normal serps". Site used to do well for many terms but has gone "off the boil" in the last 3 months because I've ignored it to do other work.
