Valuation of JustCarsOnline.co.uk
At present I have no intention of selling this site [unless of course an offer was made that I couldnt turn down].
However, I know how much it cost me and was wondering if it would be worth anywhere near that outlay yet.
Site has been live since April 2006. Receives approximately 150-350 unique visitors a day, most of which search for a car, and look on average at 6-8 pages.
We have a feed from experian automotive of 350-400 dealers, approximately 25000+ cars. At present we do not charge these dealers, however after discussions with autolocate if we could provide decent stats then we could potentially charge about £50 per dealer per month.
We have a deal with a company that designs car sites who manually update a few dealers through our system, and pay us a monthly amount.
We have moved up to about page 5-7 in google for search term "used cars for sale"
We pick up a few monthly private adverts at £9.95 each, plus £5 for feature adverts. We also pick up some affiliate commissions. We are quite well ranked for HPI, and Regtransfers, key words.
There are a few revenue streams we are not fully optimising at present, such as "valeter" classified advertising. This is post code related, and puts the valeter in front of the private used car advertiser when they set up their advert.
We also have a telephone number display system that enables us to change the number displayed by the experian feed dealers, and earn a kick back from calls and track the number of calls we generate. [ Only possible if they are using a land line/ mobile, and not a non-geographic number themselves.]
We are set up with affiliate future for privte adverts. We have picked up a few sales, but nothing major from this. We have been live with them for a couple of months now. We also have built in in house affiliate software.
This is really just an over view of the site, but I really have no idea how to value it. Any suggestions on value would be great.
