I've basically valued them on experience of selling similar domains the last 5 years.

Ultimately the final price will be based somewhere between a buyers valuation that they're willing to pay and my own that we're both happy with.

Agreed most net savvy people know that, with some exceptions, domain names arent really worth that much because there are limitless combinations of keywords. Heck ive got some nice keywords bringing up some nonsense named domains on page 1 of Goog!

That said, there are plenty of people out there who have long been convinced that spending £1000s on a domain is required so who knows. Its one of those examples of supply creating the demand.
