Hello everybody peeps,

Would anyone be interested in a mobile comparison script?

How much would you pay for somthing like this: Compare UK mobile phone offers

it is generated from the brilliant Urmob.com datafeed it actually makes physical pages and database tables on the fly and can be updated as often as you like. It also grabs a copy of all the phone images, merchant and network images stores them localy to improve speed and renames the images as it goes to a hyphenated Mobile-Name, merchant-nme, network-name

This one has only been up a short time and already has over 1000 pages indexed in google and it is a new domain name site:http://www.ukmobileshops.co.uk - Google Search

I am thinking of a price tag of around £50 but if there is enough interest I will reduce this.

Nice looking script. Needs stylesheet adjustment in IE. It's fine in FF.

Thanks for the reply and PM - I hadn't checked it in IE thanks for the heads up - it is fully templatable so can be droped into any design with ease.

The script will be available for Free just as soon as I have completed a few extra admin functions which shouldn't take long.

Hi Simon,

Yep it's all done I am just sorting out a download script so I can get a count and support form should anyone need any help. I have a couple of other things to do tonight work wise so I doubt it will be ready for download for a day or 2 yet.

This will be the first release and I have already made a start on some add-ons these will also be freely available.

I have added in a formula based meta tag, title and h1 generator as well as the option to edit each of the mobiles tags manualy - the formula method simply lets you add a string of text for each tag you then add #sitename# #make# and #model# where you see fit and the script will replace these with the correct phone make, model and site name for the page being viewed saving you editing 400 + mobiles. + Free gift images should also be ready and included for the time of first release.

yep at the moment it is a little basic you will find a file called /includes/template.php - if you open this up and you will see where all the variables i.e <?=$sitename;?> live they are clearly labled so you can see what they do. all you need do then is drop your own html in and add the php variables where you would like the content to appear. The comparison tables have a class of deals so this can be changed via your .css and the elements within the table you can change to by doing .deals th { Your table headings css } .deals td { Your td css } and so on.
