Not selling! Need advise buying a registered domain.

Hi all a question for ya, if ya please

I really want to buy a domain off someone that just has a holding page up.

Its a .co.uk and they are an individual so I cant write to them(opted out), I have also tried emailing the admin contact, but to no avail.

Is it worth me paying SEDO to try to get the domain for me? Would they be able to get any further than I have?

Can anyone else think of any other way I can contact the owner. (I have tried searching for the registered contact 'name' and link it to other domains that are .com and searched the web etc etc but cant get anything).

I just wondered if there was anyway the registrar could be asked to pass a message on or anything crazy like that!?

No idea if they would help but you could try contacting the TAG holder for the domain.

Have you tried contacting Nominet, asking them for the registrant details of the domain?

Cheers all, I will try contacting the registra but I doubt nominet will pass any information on to me. Still will give it a go.

As for the hand - I cant find anywhere on the forum to edit that tag line anymore - My hand is fine now thanks

Re - Sedo .. I've used them before for this purpose to good effect and can certainly recommend them for that.

The tag holder will sometimes be able to help you - depends who they are. With a bit of digging around through you can usually find the owners contact details. PM me if you like and I'll check it out for ya.

When you say holding page is it a parking page? Sometimes the parking company can help (again, depending on who they are).

Contacting the tag holder would be the easiest way and asking them nicely to pass on a message. You could also check the domain name servers and do a reverse check for sites hosted on the specific name servers (provided its not a biggie provider like Fasthosts, etc). If they are their own name servers they may have some active sites on them for you to do some digging.

Try myIPneighbors.com Reverse IP Domain Check DNS Tool and see what else is hosted on the server, assuming they host the holding page themselves.

Sometimes turns up a site with a contact form on.
