Discount Code Website and Management Platform For Sale

Twopper - Free Voucher Codes, Discount Codes, Promotional Offers and Sales News

Over the Christmas break I've been playing around with WordPress and trying out lots of features and plugins to get a good understanding of it.

I ended up building Twopper. Twopper is a discount code and offers website with a twist. The site is named Twopper as it is a Twitter style shopping website (Twitter + Shopper = Twopper). Each discount is posted like a Twitter style post limited to 140 characters.

In addition to the normal discount and offer site functionality the site has two key features.

Integration with Twitter

The site is integrated with Twitter. Every discount code, offer or piece of news posted can automatically be syndicated on to the Twopper Twitter page at Twitter / twopper. Twitter tweets are also automatically posted to the Twopper site.

Why is this useful?

Twitter is a free service that lets you keep in touch with people through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing? It is very similar to the Facebook status updates. If the owner of the site can get a lot of followers (friends) of Twopper on Twitter then those followers can see the discounts and offer messages being syndicated. Hopefully those followers will click through to the Twopper site and use the site to purchase.

Twitter is growing very fast and is a very interesting marketing platform for an affiliate marketeer to tap in to.

Integration with Facebook

Twopper is integrated with Facebook using the Facebook Connect service. Facebook Connect adds functionality to Twopper that allows users to securely log in using their Facebook login details and post comments on discounts, offers and news posts. Those users are then able to choose to syndicate their comment on their own Facebook profile. The comment on the Facebook users' profile can then get seen by the users' friends, hopefully leading to their friends click through to Twopper and using the site to purchase.

Facebook Connect functionality also adds user profile page functionality and Facebook friend invite functionality.

Non Facebook users are still able to login and post normally.

• Hidden affiliate links
• SEO friendly
• Submitted, listed and indexed Google and other search engines
• Optimised for display on iPhone and iPod Touch (other handsets can easily be added)
• Functionality that allows the addition of as much unique content as any owner wishes.
• Google Analytics
• Complies with IAB discount code guidelines

WordPress Content Management System

The site is powered by WordPress. WordPress is a scalable platform for managing content and perfect for managing a site like this. WordPress uses PHP with an SQL database.

Suitable for a Novice Developer

The site can easily be customised by adding additional plugins or themes. The existing design and functionality has many plugins added. The theme has been hand-customised by myself (I'm no PHP expert).

The site is currently hosted with 1&1.

The site is populated with dummy data and will work with any affiliate network's affiliate links.

Offers Accepted

I'm not interested in running the site as I would not be able to dedicate any time to it. In the right hands this site has the possibility to very successful and is a great opportunity for an affiliate to quickly jump in to the discount code marketplace.
