Hello i have joined tradedoubler this weekend i want to make some quick cash from it.

But i have a few questions

do i really need to pay tax on every penny i make online?

and what are the consequences if i dont?

and how will the goverment find out that i am making money online?

sorry for asking all these newbie questions, and Hi to all of you since this is my first post here.

You are probably wandering how i am gonna make quick cash, actually lets make that my final question.

There are a bunch of people that i personally know that need broadband services, so i want to apply to some affiliate programs and than buy the broadband for them online through my affiliate links. But if it becomes a succes i might open an office where people can consult with me about the best broadband deals and mobile phone contract deals and than i might be able to make a living out of it, this will work for me because the community which i am targeting dont believe in buying things online.

So my question is, is this considered artificial traffic and do the affiliate networks allow me to convert leads to customers offline.

On tax: yes, you need to pay tax on your earnings. Are HMRC really going to be bothered if we are talking about beer money? Well, probably not. Do the HMRC hang around forums like this? Probably.

On the plus side, affiliate marketing is relatively easy to do the accounting for. Outgoing tend to be things like hosting, advertising and domain names. Income tends to come from the networks (who give you monthly reports). If you do Self Assessment anyway, then it should be no problem factoring it in.

As for the business model you suggest.. well, this sounds like you are trying to do internet marketing for people who don't yet have the internet?

That seems a bit strange to me, as all you're proposing is people come into your office and apply for services in their own name using your PC. This may be offline marketing, but it still results in online sales.
