I mentioned this quite entertaining issue some months ago - looks like they really think that it's spelt that way!

Personally, I prefer that spelling, much more descriptive

Yes but it's #1 in Google for "A-c-c-u-n-t-a-n-c-y". Surely being at #1 for a niche is better than #217,653 for "Accountancy"?
