They were good to deal with, and ended up sorting it out through Hiscox but I can't remember how much it was.
This is a question for those of you that run limited companies with your spouse - do you have Employers' Liability insurance?
I'm just in the process of going Limited with my wife and have found that if you have a Limited company with more than 1 employee then you must legally have Employers' Liability insurance.
Now, to me it sounds a little silly, as the business is owned by my wife and I and we're not going to sue ourselves if we have an accident while working at home. However, if that's the law then that's the law.
But - I have just arranged for business bank accounts to be opened and the business manager that saw us told us about the insurance, but that while we technically needed it we didn't really need to bother as we'll not sue ourselves.
So that would be good - it'd save paying a needless insurance. But I just wanted to check what other people were doing first - e.g. do you all (that have limited companies with your partners and no other employees) have the insurance?
Everywhere I look on the web seems to say that you need it, even in husband and wife companies, so I'm inclined to think that I may well need to get it to be sure, despite being told that it wouldn't really matter if I didn't.
Any tips on the cheapest place to get it?
