For all you self employed, if you need to make a second payment on account for the tax year ending on 5 April 2007 it must be paid by 31 July. Interest will be charged if you pay late.
You can pay online (details at HM Revenue & Customs: Payment of Self Assessment ) . Remember that if paying online, HMRC must receive cleared funds by 31 July.
If your tax return showing your tax due for 2006/07 has not been submitted and you think your liability is lower than the two instalments HMRC have requested (HMRC base it on the previous year) either get your tax return completed and submitted ASAP or send a letter/form requesting to reduce your payments on account.
