I'm thinking of counting the broadband as a business cost. It's a personal use contract, but I would only be deducting the proportion I use for business - say half. Do you think the Taxman would accept that?

yah whole bill for me too, after 8-10 hours of web use at the office, I'm not in the mood for recreational surfing when I get home.. am sick of looking at a screen most days
charge the whole thing

Yep, charged it here, but did have the broadband account changed into business name of course, you'll need this for invoicing purposes!
Charge it all, as it is necessary for your business and any personal use is "incidental".
