I don't have any of my business banking with Standard Life yet but their rates are pretty good

Abbey have a 'business reserve account' with some nice interest rates.

£10,000 up to £99,999 - 4.00%
£100,000 up to £249,999 - 4.50%
£250,000 up to £499,999 - 5.00%
£500,000 up to £999,999 - 5.25%

They dropped rates approx 0.5% a week ago, so there may well be better rates on the market

Alliance and Leicester "Business Instant Reserve Deposit Account" -

< 50k = 4.43%
50k - 250k = 5.16%
250k+ = 5.47%

Have a look at the ALCB offering . As well as highly competitive APR's they also offer 2 years free business banking. I should know - I manage their affiliate programme!

We have ours with Northern Rock

Though its not a bad rate @ 5.6%

Matt, I was looking at the Northern Rock site yesterday, it probably is the best deal I have seen so far on my own as well and its prob pretty safe now its been taken over.

I only ask as I went to one of them financial advisor's for the first time last week and he reckoned he could get me 6.6 here in the UK but charges 1% of the deposit per year making it equivalent to 5.6 on my own.

I am just trying to find out where he can get this 6.6% from

6.6% might have been a fixed term deposit rather than a flexible access account, but if you find it let me know!

The best place to look is probably Best corporate bank savings account interest rates for business ltd limited plc public limited companies where you can find pretty well all savings account from banks and building societies that are available to business customers.

The rate depends who you bank with and how much
Natwest have a Treasury reserve account. I place £500k + with them on a weekly basis on behalf of a client (4.7% ish).
I recently had a call from HBOS offering more ... however, confirmation email not yet received.

If you deposit funds with a bank that does not hold your current account you may lose at least 3 days each way on the transfer of funds between your current account and the savings/deposit account.

Sorry to bump a topic that's 8+ months old, but does anyone have any views on what the best accounts for business savings are currently?

I already have an a/c with Northern Rock but would like to distribute funds a little further by opening a second business savings account (even though NR is supposed to be as safe as... errr... houses )

Is there much appetite out there to promote a Business Banking Current Account? Changing thread slightly, but we haven't felt there are enough affiliate opportunities out there to push this.

Please feel very free to prove me wrong!
