Yes because the person who wrote the cheque would have the invoice that you provided.

If an affiliate was paid commissions in the form of a cheque, is it wise for that person to cash in the cheque at one those high street cheque cashing services and not run it through the books? Can this transaction be traced? Hypothetically speaking of course...

Bloody taxman.
Yes indeed, bloody tax man. However if we didn't pay tax the country would grind to a standstill.

When you cash the cheque at the cash converter store they will need various i.ds incase the cheque you effectively sell them bounces.. driving license, passport etc. This will all be audit traceable for accounting/fraud prevention purposes etc.
Why do you need to waste your hard earned commissions cashing your cheque, get an over draft or loan from a family member etc.. they will cheque you around 5 % of the cheque value or at least 40 quid I reckon..
Just do it properly and pay tax like the rest of usIf an affiliate was paid commissions in the form of a cheque, is it wise for that person to cash in the cheque at one those high street cheque cashing services and not run it through the books? Nothing more annoying than paying tax especially when you see governments blow it in totally lame ways and the country on the slice all around us but I'd rather sleep easy at night, rather than ... Now the taxman can bug your home and phone calls to catch payment dodgers | the Daily Mail ... and end up more paranoid than a crack head
it's ok doing what you are thinking of (hypothetically) doing however the tax man can go back 20 years if they suspect fraud I think so even a couple or £3k per year fiddled this way could be a house sale in the making 20 years down the line if you get caught and when you think about it the tax man only has to get lucky once and you are nicked.. you have to stay lucky every time to get away with it.
so all in all it just isnt' worth it, pay the tax, sleep easier
Ok ok, the general consensus is a big thumbs down then.
Its just so horribly tempting though. I am paid via bacs by all networks apart from one, who still send me a cheque each month. We're not talking huge sums... but it would be nice to get a wad of cash in your hand each month whilst the other hand is sticking 2 fingers up to the taxman.
Discount for cash?
Yes, it's frustrating having to fund illegal wars, failed NHS IT systems, the Northern Rock bail-out and public enquiries into every Government cock-up (not to mention Al-Fayed's Diana conspiracy theories) but the only way to avoid it is to do it legally.
Anyone know any good tax havens?![]()
