Due to the train strike I had to buy a couple of flights to London and back for my mates 30th birthday weekend.

Whilst down there I actually ended up meeting a potential client who I am now going to redesign a website for.

Can I claim the flights, tube tickets etc as business expenses? Please?

You can technically claim for anything - its whether you can justify it to the taxman when he calls thats the real question.

In this case it sounds like you may be able to explain it without blushing - but yeah forget the story about the birthday bit.
