Have been abroad for a year - Do i have to pay tax??

Ok, I have been to a couple of accountants and have yet to get a definite answer, so I wonder if anyone else has been in the same situation as myself and can give me some advice..

I went to south america in march 2007 and returned to the UK in June 2008. While in south america I was entering countries on tourist visas and not taking residency anywhere. My affiliate earnings gets paid into my UK bank account. I have been renting out my house while i was away.

Do I have to submit a tax return for 2007-2008? Will I have to pay any tax for this period?

Yes you are liable to pay tax. The question you should be asking is to whom.

For tax purposes "residence" ordinary residence" and "domicile" are different things for tax purposes .
