Hi everyone,
I'm starting out in affiliate marketing and would like to maintain some privacy from the networks. Nothing dodgy, just my day job doesn't allow other employment (as with most employment contracts).
Obviously I can use any old email address and contact phone number, but do networks generally require mailing addresses (as opposed to a PO Box or something), and will they accept a business bank account?
Any help or general comments about maintaining privacy much appreciated.
MH
That may be illegal though for tax reasons?
I would personally say to register as yourself with your real details - many networks manually check affiliates to ensure that details are correct and commission can be withheld if they are unable to contact the affiliate to verify who they are - it may not happen here but it's something to take into account.
The best option is to drop the networks a message once you are registered to let them know that you do not want to be contacted in the day, or prefer email, etc and they should be able to take note of that and ensure that this is the way you are contacted in all future communication.
Good luck and if I can help for any AF questions do let me know.
Cheers
James

I have a day job and they don't know about my self employment as an affiliate. They don't have a contract which says I can't have a 2nd income, but for privacy reasons I have just decided not to mention it to them as when I do out of hours is none of their business.
I just use my home address and my home telephone number and personal bank account so unless they are snooping I cant see how the other company will find out unless they are also into affiliate marketing.
as long as what your doing in your full time employment isnt seen as a conflict of interest and is only operated outside work hours i doubt they would care
if you think they would .. just keep schtum .... i doubt your boss is psyhcic

Hi
If you don't want your employer to find out about your second income, make sure you put an X in the boxes on your tax return that say you do not want your non-day job tax to be collected under PAYE. Otherwise a change in your tax code will flag up a second income to your employer's payroll department.
Make sure you register with HMRC as they will find out ... if you make a loss you can claim a tax refund. For help on registering and what you can claim as tax deductible expenses, I written a number of articles at http://tips.hrbs.biz which you may find useful.

I take it you trust the employees of affiliate networks more than your husband then?
New interface or old one, which do you prefer

All my other companies are put through my wife, so no-one will ever find out just how many businesses I operate.
Oh....
(Only kidding)
I don't think it matters. If you can have a blog, it should be no problem.
