How important is it to print off invoices?

Am I expected to print off every available invoice that is stored online, whether I am being audited or not?

You have to provide paper copies if you get a visit/audit however since my accountant insist on seeing every single invoice. I just gotten in to the habit of printing them off as I do them and then checking I have them all each vat quarter. One day HM Custom and Revenue will move in to the future and allow digital storage or at least let you only have to print when an inspection is needed. Will save time and trees!
