Nice rant mate! Let it all out!
I am remembering this is a public forum and not just to buy and sell loan declines and PPI leads and even now people advertising 5 PI leads for sale or 10 IVA leads for sale i mean come on sell something of worth not just to pay your next bill.
Next Level is a post saying "my mum wants a quote for Insurance who will pay me for this..????????" but guess what she also fits in an IVA and wants Quotes for a loan off 12 diff companies. you do the math..
Q HOW MUCH IS YOUR MUM WORTH?
Just going off current Prices on the forum and how much i could SELL my Mum for if i so desired.
At least 6 Insurance Buyers on here average payout is £15 = £90
At Least 4 Sec Loan Buyers on here Average Payout is £30 = £120
At Least 10 Dm buyers on this forum average payout is £35 = £350
At Least 3 IVA Buyers on this forum payout is £90 = £270
Ok and she might have had an Accident at work who knows my mum lies but payouts around £100 a lead for PI and 3 ish buyers another £300
She also is looking at reclaiming her PPI and Bank Charges i recon i could make £150 off that.
So far my MUM is worth £1280.. Imagine what i could earn if i got all my face book friends/myspace/bebo/college applying through me..
I have caught a few people doing these things already and watching out for the more as some of our suppliers have suppliers and middle men and computer systems that do most of the work for them and some names come through and through our system more times than i can go for a cig break.
And Just before anyone asks me if they can use my MUM as a lead.. SHE IS DEAD so unfortunately unavailable to talk at the moment..
Its Monday morning i am feeling blue and let down
As everyone knows were constantly recruiting Generators of leads from all sources and i feel every one is just wasting mine and my employee’s time..
I am not going to name any names but i need to get this off my mind..
Let’s start with Lifestyle Survey companies..
Ok so you get a company offering to put you a sponsored question on a telephone survey or doing a bit of data cleansing/filtering..
Some charge £2.50 a record others are trying to charge £15 some even have the cheek to charge up to £35 for this same record..
So send me a list and we will call it.. I pay for a telesales member to sit on your list of 50 records that you generated yesterday and out of that list at best i can get 2 that are interested in getting a quote.. The rest are all SAID NO TO EVERY QUESTION and did not want a follow up sales call or are just rude and hang up on us.. Now even at £2.50 a record these conversion rates are too low to make a profit on this data... and rejections are usually not allowed but if they are you have to send the recorded conversation... and to be honest for a not interested lead, that we have had to pay for a member of staff to contact and use of phones and recording software costs etc etc PLEASE STOP WASTING MORE OF MY TIME..
Might as well call from the phone book...
Next up Call Centers...
We have got HOT KEYS coming out of our ears...
First question we ask the customer...
"You have been having a chat with one of our call centers regarding a quote for life insurance is that something you’re interested in having a look at"
Now you would have thought as the customer spent the time to come over via hot key they would be interested... but believe it or not 40% say to this question NO i am not interested. Or IF they are interested another 50% of these fall out of the criteria specified again thanks for wasting my time.
Internet Generators...
Ok some of these guys are good and some are sneaky..
Why do Leads generated exclusively always have applied to 3-4 other people before i seem to get hold of them.. All the same merchants too.. See a pattern emerging
What to do... What to do.. ????????????????
So frustrating..
Any angry replies at this will result in being off my 2010 Christmas Card List.. BE WARNED

So you've not had anyone going thru the phonebook making random bits of the leadgen form up yet? But submitting mostly accurate details lol??
That might make you consider topping someone lmao![]()

Hey you might laugh but my telemarketers one day were having a really bad result off the data i gave them from lifestyle surveys and asked me if they could call from the BT phone book as it would provide better results..
Then i informed them they couldn't cos of TPS regulations and the rules of "cold calling" and they said to me a couple of the "leads" had complained they were on the TPS register and we should not be COLD CALLING THEM and said they didnt see the differance
lol![]()
Without the risk of annoying Matt, A4u is a fraction of what it was once.. It attracts all the wrong sorts and has alienated all the good guys.
Work with the good introducers that you have and get rid of the dead wood. Good leads and good sources are hard to find.
PS.. Don't sell your mum short, she's worth a lot more than £1280![]()
Rick Porter is abcfinance, or is he "allaboutleads", or is he in fact a pot calling the kettle black who has built the bulk of his business from a4u?
I do agree that when we get Mr. Swindells selling leads one at a time via a forum, and every Monday there's some offshore call centre guy who's searched for every post on his chosen subject since time began and added the same "please pm me the details" message to every one, it can get a little tiresome.
BUT.. it is also very very funny. Especially when one of these idiots takes offence and starts trying to defend him/herself. Like that "free website review" guy who recently tried to kid us that he was spamming a4u because he DIDN'T want any more business and just wanted to do us all a huge favour, or the poor person who tried to build an empire for himself off the back of "designer flip flops" or something similar.
Is a4u a good place to do business? - nope, not really. Is it a good place to wind people up and test my skills of wit and sarcasm to the max? You bet!
And every now and then a great thread like Frank Smingle's "Kick up the backside" or the one about Adfero and legal action comes along and we all actually learn something. Which is a pleasant surprise these days, but still makes this the place it deserves to be.
So, couple the endless fun with the occasional insightful gem and it still makes a4u the 2nd best AM forum around. Mine's the best, of course, and I promise that this is an unbiased and objective point of view. Honest.

It amazes me how many mediums work in this sector. The amount of idiots I get phoning and asking to speak to my dead partner is unbelieveable. Fred the shred knows who they are.
Maybe I should take advantage and get her to sign for a shed load of finance - I mean, if they can talk to her, then they'll have to accept her signature, won't they?
When i first started in business 8 years ago i was ABC Finance as i was doing mortgages and loans etc etc..
But i don’t understand what you were trying to say Michael i am in the process of changing our business name to something i think is good and brandable. Also with JayFCF (James Upjohn) becoming one of my Directors/Business Partners he also agreed a name change would do us as it would be a part of him too and not just my old company name. We have not changed it for the reasons like the rest of the people who change there names on here cos they have ripped people off and want to do it again..
Now that i have changed my business model and we sell leads rather than brokering them i thought i should change my name to suit its purpose..
To be honest with you A4u forum is not where i get any of my business from. I get a little bit from here with suppliers such as Gerard and anshuman but by no means is it where i get the bulk of my business from.
I also have 1 maybe 2 if you include some of the payday lenders merchants from here..
It’s nice to know that you have been tracking my affairs on the forum and obviously your intelligence on the matter is a bit wrong.
But i just suspect you didn’t want a Christmas card this year
This is about one of the best threads I have ever read. Very very funny but also very true. Well said, about time someone did.

I think Rick is only saying what a lot of people have been saying only in a more succinct and witty way. I pop in here every day to have a look around and see what "new offers" are on the table, never ceases to amuse me.
Today we have a guy that has posted at least 20 different threads, all of it rubbish.
In truth I have ever really dealt with a few guys I found here, Rick & jay (who i really enjoy doing business with) and a few others that i can trust. I am not interested in buying the latest batch of 10 million fresh dm records a day, or indeed a whole data base that is "exclusive" and only 6 months old
However witty the post is there is a strong element of truth in what has been said. I am sure that this forum in its early days was a great way to meet buyers/sellers and do a roaring trade, but now?, well its like a bazaar (or is that bizarre) everyone selling the same old crap that lets be honest unless you are stupid you wouldn't touch with the proverbial. the regulars on here know who can be trusted, they also know better than buy/sell to barrow boys.
Well said Gerard.
Rick - apologies if I caused any offence, and many thanks for explaining things. It makes sense now, which it didn't before.
And by the way, I NEVER want any Xmas cards, just a waste of trees if you ask me![]()

The latest Scam seems to be Sign up for life insurance and you will get your loan that you require.. Just caught 3 Centres doing this.. after loosing a few grand in clawbacks..
While we have been quizzing customers about Why they are interested and what the call centres have told them to say.. alot of clients also have been applying for DM plans.. And DM Industry BEWARE they are telling the customers what information to give to you to get accepted on a DM plan and are telling the customers you will get 2 sets of paperwork one from the loan company offering you a loan and one from the DM company.. and then they are telling the customers to NOT fill in the DM paperwork..
