    Hi,

I'm new to affiliate marketing and have a question that I'm really struggling to find an answer to.

Do I have to be FSA registered to include banners from insurance companies on my website and to get paid on a per sale basis?

I've searched the forums already for a similar topic and can't find anything so i appologise if someone has posted on a similar topic before.

    Thanks,
    Carolyn

    Hi

In my opinion you don't need to be authorised. Only sole traders/companies who advice/ arrange financial products must be authorised.

As you put banners of other companies, they should be authorised and you better check this. Those banners should be checked for compliance by a senior manager of that company.

You allways can ring FSA if you are in doubt.

    Regard

    Eugen,.

Make sure you have a disclaimer on your site saying that you are not giving any financial advice whatsover and your site is simply a conduit to FSA regulated / registered organisations.

And before I forget stay away from mortgages otherwise they will slap you.

You should be ok with car, pet, life and home insurance...

My understanding is also that FSA registration is only required when you start recommending specific products. If you are just displaying banners it's okay, but as soon as you start giving advice and recommend one company over another, that's financial advice and that's where the FSA comes in.

This is just my understanding though, nothing more.

As someone registered with the FSA I can tell you that:-

Providing it is not your firm giving the advice or making the sale and you are simply displaying a banner advertising another firms products then you do NOT need to be regulated.
