Hello All,

I have a quick question with regards to Conumer Credit Licencing that I hope you can answer...

If I purchase an existing organisation/company that has a CCL - Will that CCL remain valid even though the old owner is nothing to do with that business anymore?

Your thoughts would be welcomed...

Hi Rob

It would depend if the CCL was in a Ltd company name or sole trader/inividual name.

If the CCL is in a company name and you are trading under THE SAME company, then it shouln't be a problem. I would contact the OFT directly to confirm, as I'm pretty sure they can be transferred into a new name if need be, with both parties consent.

Yes it is a Ltd company and not a sole trader etc.

You Can Continue Trading using the same company name. Just get the address changed if you are moving the registered address to a new one.
