    Hi all

The new rules that come into play for personal injury fees this year seem to me to be unclear ? in regards to where it leaves claims managment companies.

Are our Referral Fees going to be taking a large drop? I cant make out if this is a good or bad thing ? Yes its great that cases are now going to be setteld quickly but at what cost to us ?

Is this the beginning of the end for the claims management

    Your views please

To be honest lee the new costs structure wont really affect cmc's. Solicitors will still make £1200 per case.

Ive spoken to various law firms who have stated they are happy to pay out £600 per case!. This is beacuase there is less work for them to do on there side and with the claims process made quicker, the fee earners will have to do less work!!!

From a cmc point of view i beleive the moj may ask cmc owners to take exams to see if they know anything about the areas
they provide services in. I think this will benefit us as all the cowboys will be shut down.. hence freeing up the market for
the rest of us to capture! :-) ...... we can only hope!

I hope that is the case, but I guess only time will tell in regards to what firms will be willing to pay for referrals,

It would not suprise me if they pay the referrals fees in stages.

In regards to claims man having exams, I agree with this I think there should be a leval to which persons have to be qualified to run a claims man company. I myself have law qualifications, I run my own claims man company but unlike most claims man company's who only pass on cases as referrals, I have now began dealing with the claims with clients and represent them on cases that otherwise would not be placed. So its extra money for me.
