Hi there, does anyone know if Black Horse are still trading? Or if anyone has heard that there are impending cuts coming up?

Said I would put the feelers out for a colleague of mine.

Cheers for that, only reason I asked is one of mates Mrs' has been called to Sheffield tomorrow along with the rest of the branch she works in and they won't say why. Just wondered if anyone had heard anything on the grapevine as last time this happened they went from 92 branches to 61 or something like that! So shes very worried.

They have been having reductions and cut backs for a wile now.

The first thing they did was change the critera on credit for car finance about 18 months ago, then they shut branches and laid of staff.

My guess is that they will be more to go yet before the rise again.

Just branches shutting I believe, will now be operating from a Central office so will remain in the Broker market....

Yeah calling a whole branch away to a neutral venue would always suggest lay offs, news is that all the branches have been closed (not with immediate affect, but will be around April time) at which point all loans will be processed through their Cardiff based centre, so although black horse will still trade the face to face branches will no longer exist. Shame.

They work on loans for low rate apr

When we were in the car finance market, you would loan £3000 and over 4 years pay £3900 back.

Such a high risk for small ammount, We used to get many people who would stop paying them to, they just cant make the money.

It makes you think when they close branches like this, but the goverment say they want the banks to start lending credit again.

I still berlive that there is more cra p to come before it gets better again
