I am looking for some information about establishing an insurance comparison website.

Any answers to the questions below much appreciated:

1, Are the insurance companies normally co-operative towards newbies in this market i.e. will they be willing to provide the necessary data links to provide the quotes via API etc.

2, What sort of approval do comparison websites require from the FSA? Can a company which is not directly associated with the industry normally gain such an approval?
