Advice for a newbie about lead generation :-)

Hi all,

Firstly thank you for reading my post and secondly this is my first post so if its in completely the wrong section or I'm breaking some forum rule I'm sorry.

Basically I work fora health insurance intermediary and after seeing how much they spend on leads I would like to start some lead generation of my own and possibly turn this into a full time occupation. I'm extremely computer literate (know about 10 programming languages) and have already made a few high ranking websites that I do 'ok' from. I cant partake in any health insurance lead generation activity as this would be a breach of my contract and I wouldn't do that anyway as my work have been very good to me :-)

I suppose my main questions are:
What other types of finance leads are there?
How much do these pay per lead?
Would you recommend finding a broker to sell these directly to or using a lead market place like leadpoint? pros/cons?
When selling finance leads what are the legalities such as FSA regulations and data protection?
How does the data sampling and vetting work when selling leads?

And just any other advice no matter how small :-)
