They are OK as a network. Payment is done only after you issue an invoice - rather awkward compared with rival networks. Support via phone is generally very good. Support via email is rather poor.

Furthermore, Leadbay's rejection rate is absolutely disgusting compared with rival networks, and that's what really counts at the end of the day. The above is only our personal experience with them to date. I'm sure others will give a different account.

they are pretty average. i've not found the rejection rate too bad myself, my biggest gripe is the size of the cut they take per lead, its HUGE!

    Hi guys,

Thanks for your feedback- we really appreciate hearing about what experiences our affiliates are having and I’m sure it's easier to say what you think in a relatively anonymous setting.

I thought it might be helpful for me to address some of the issues people have expressed.

Firstly- our website has not been updated for some time and it is something we are working on presently. We recognise that this is one of the first things a potential affiliate sees and we need to improve the information on there as well as making it more user friendly.

Secondly, in terms of rejection rates- on mortgages, our prices are some of the highest around- substantially higher than any network that advertises 'zero rejection' (which is a myth anyway). Our average invalid rates are around 10% and in the case of them being higher we try to work with affiliates to improve the message on the site and perhaps review their ads (i.e. advertising very low rates or implying that it is an online quote service can reduce quality)

Thirdly in terms of our email support- we have invested a lot in growing the affiliate team which this time last year was only one person and now is three. We certainly have struggled to respond to every email in the past and I’m sorry if this has been the experience of anyone here. I hope that this is no longer the case, but again- do let us know if you are waiting for a response- emails sometimes do get lost in cyberspace.

Finally, in terms of payment- sending an invoice gives affiliates some control over when they get paid- it also means we can group payments together for those with larger accounts as well as producing a useful paper trail that our auditors are grateful to us for. It doesn't take very long to paste a statement into Word and write ‘invoice’ at the top but I understand this can feel like a drag if you don't have to do this with other networks.

    I hope this helps,

    John

I used to work with Leadbay myself in my early days as an affiliate and although they are a rival these days I will admit that they do offer great payouts and they are very reliable. Although they invalidate a lot of leads, and this is always a kind of "moving feast", with your totals shrinking by the day, whatever leads are left get paid for in full and on time.

Some affiliates also dislike Leadbay as a great deal of their volume comes from their own sites, so they are effectively competing directly with their affiliates. I personally don't have a problem with this (not that we do this ourselves) - if you need to ramp up volumes are your affiliates aren't delivering, it seems like a perfectly reasonable approach.

The question for any potential affiliate is whether they accept a high payout but with a correspondingly high rejection rate, or a lower one with a minimal rejection rate. I guess it's only by trial and error that you can establish what works for you.

Generally, for loans, most affilates prefer us, for mortgages, most affiliates prefer Leadbay. Much as it grieves me to say so!
