I wouldn't say you have done anything wrong, just you have replied to about twenty posts that are at least a year old with no real value added http://www.affiliates4u.com/forums/f...tml#post358142 for example in this post which Leadbay made over a year ago you have dragged it up from nowhere for no reason - and I think people have become irritated withthis ?

You also just add a comment that this is of interest to you ? Great, though in this context it is of no value ! - Why not contact leadbay, sign up to their program and check their current pricing - or ask them a question on what you want from them - maybe you have-?

A lot of people read the forum religiously - sometimes something happened a long time ago which was time sensitive - and when it gets bumped people get excited about it and then realise they were excited for nothing. This could be the case with your leadbay post - their prices are determined by their buyers - these prices are more than likely horribly out of date - could be more or less

Anyway - I am rambling. Nothing really 'wrong' has been done, nothing 'right' either - just a lot of people get irritated by very old threads being bumped for no good reason - which is what it looks like has happened here

    Thanks Marky,

I agree and we don't seek that sort of publicity by bumping old threads- hence i let it be and hoped it would disappear back down the list.

For the record- Leads secured haven't contacted us directly which would have been easy as our details are always at the bottom of our posts.

What I would say is that occasionally there is a value in replying to a post rather than contacting someone directly and this is as follows. If an affiliate replies to a post about lead pricing saying; 'i generate 5000 leads a month and don't have a buyer', they will gain the attention not only of the poster but their competitors also and in one move can get themselves on the radar as a serious potential supplier. The opposite is also true; if an affiliate posts 'Does anyone buy mortgage leads?' and i reply to them directly i lose the opportunity to reply for the benefit of the forum, hence i would reply to the post to let other affiliates know the answer to a question without people constantly having to start new threads saying the same thing.

In the case of Leads Secured, as far as i can see they are new and willing to learn how things work. All of us at some stage knew nothing about affiliate marketing or finance and may have come onto a forum with earnest enthusiasm to be shot down by the 'in' crowd who only know the ropes cos they have been around for some time. The sticky post that Matt Wood has suggested we formulate will help new users not to have the rest of the forum against them with their first 3 posts

    Hope that makes sense

I agree with John but would also like to expand on his statement:

All of us at some stage knew nothing about affiliate marketing or finance
by adding that this is clearly shown by looking at some of the "'in crowds'" own early posts.

Yes, I agree that a lot of what Leads_Secured has posted and in the manner it has been posted can be annoying but I think it far better to put them straight in an informative and helpful way. Not necessarily just for the perpetrator's benefit but also for other newbies lurking in the forum.

Yes!! one of which is not specifying what exactly you're reffering to by this post; as i havent read any of your earlier posts, it's slightly confusing.
