Hi everyone
Just wondering if anyone's aware of any affiliate schemes for prepaid Visa/Mastercard/Maestro cards (the kinda thing offered on firstprepay.com)?
Would appreciate any info that can be offered!
Thanks in advance![]()
Ignore this - I used the trusty 'search' function (!) and found some info!
I have a site based on prepaid debit cards, and it does ok.
There are affiliate schemes for these cards on Affiliate Window and Webgains (and maybe others, but these are the ones I use).
Watch out for Splash Plastic on Webgains. Thought they were great at first, putting their commissions up from £2 to £4 and then to £10 per card. However, now I`ve used them for about 6 months i've become really disillusioned with them.
They take 2 months to validate a card, which is a long time compared to all the other card companies I work with who validate within a week. Also getting a massive cancellation rate. Looks great when it seems you've made £80 a day from Splash, but then when it comes down to validation time, you`ll be lucky to make £10.
Seriously thinking about ditching them now, as although the other card providers give lower commissions, validation time is much shorter and you get far more comissions validated.
I would totally agree with my friend at TBP - i am a great supporter of prepaid cards and have six sites specifically promoting prepaid cards. I am thinking of ditching Splash plastic too - they are cancelling about 70% of all transactions and that is after two months of waiting for validation.
Stay away from Bread as well....
Also anyone seen any affiliate links for Red88/Crewcardnetwork/InsureandGo/Sun MasterCard prepaid cards - i have heard the InsureandGo travel card is doing really well. Anyone know if they have affiliate links or if they run on an affiliate network??
Cheers
Yoram
Hi Gareth and Yoram,
Thanks for the feedback on the various prepaid card threads regarding Splash Plastic. I know that the team at Splash are always keen to get affiliate feedback and I'm sure that in our upcoming review your comments will prove most useful.
As Splash Plastic pay on activated cards, not sales or applications, the recall period is longer than other companies in the market. However, we are in the process of looking at ways to improve the conversion rates.
I'd be interested in hearing from you both, and anyone else interested, regarding the prepaid card sector in general. I'd be keen to have a chat about what you look for when assessing prepaid programs. This would help us to ensure that programs are structured to affiliate requirements as much as possible (obviously depending on merchant circumstances)
Please feel free to give me a shout.

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your response.
Basically, priorities for me are low declines, and short validation times ( 1 - 2 weeks).
I would be happy to have a lower rate of commission for splash if I got more commissions validated.
I promote a couple of different cards, and generally they offer £4 - £6 and are validated within a week or two. I`m not sure to be honest if they are applications or activated cards, but I haven't had any declines to I guess it must be for applications.
I think Splash need to look at why the cards aren't activated, as on the surface it looks like a good card compared to the rest on offer, so i don't understand why people aren't using the cards.

I am looking after the online marketing for Red88, and working with a small number of publishers at present. Please PM me or post your contact details so we can discuss an opportunity. I'm always looking to work with quality affiliates and by the sounds of it, you both run some very successful sites, which i'm keen to run a Red88 campaign on.

Will
Chequepoint Pre-paid cards have an excellent scheme. Turnaround is around 72 hrs and they pay between GBP 2.50 - GBP 5 depending. You can see their site at ccpmc.co.uk. There is no www in the URL.
The FairFX card is on AffiliateFuture where our validation time. As a network all our sales are automatically validated after 5 days.
I believe the CPA is £7.50 and it's converting very well - certainly worth giving it a go.
Feel free to drop me an email for more info - but I will be out this afternoon.
Thanks

Hi there
Thanks for the comments on Splash (no really!) - these are concerns we have taken on board and I posted just this morning in the affiliate marketing lounge that our commission structure is changing as of 1st August.
Here's what we're offering from 1st August:
£6 per APPLICATION - no more validation related payments etc!
21 days recall period insead of 60
30 day cookie
more creative than any other prepaid card merchant
specific landing pages for the main types of traffic we get
We also want to be known as the most helpful and affiliate friendly of the prepaid merchants out there, as well as running the program offering you the best ROI. Our affiliates are very important to us so we do listen to your feedback and make changes based on it!
