Newbie - Basic Info Required

Hi All,

I'm sorry if these are really basic questions, but I'm new to the affiliate scene and need some basic information.

1 - Lets say I have the details of customers who would like me to search the Internet for cheap loans. Let say I have 10,000 customers:

A: I don't want to type 10,000 of them into some web-form. Do companies looking for leads accept raw data files? If not, are there automated utilities that will take raw data and load it into a web-form?

B: If I presented those 10,000 customers to one company, can I present them to another company? If so, how many other companies could I present my leads too?

2 - Where can I get some good basic guides and background information on affiliating? I'm looking at finance markets in particular.

To answer your questions in very broad terms

1) a) 10,000 leads all in one go will swamp most companies and they won't be able to deal with them so you will need to split them down in to smaller groups. That said, how old are these leads, if they are more than 48-72 hours old then their value is practically zero as they may well have already approached another company for a loan.
Most larger companies will have a way of you submitting a file automatically though without having to enter each lead manually.

b) You should really only sell each lead to one company - it's a bit naughty to sell the same finance lead more than once

2) You're in the right place, set aside at least a full week to read as many posts on this forum as you can.

On a wider note, I assume you do have all of the necessary Data Protection registration / Consumer Credit licences etc to handle this data that you have available?

This is data NOT customers, so let's get that straight first of all.

If you're in UK you can't legally do anything with it unless the individual has agreed to be contacted.
Outside UK, you can sell it for about 5pence a record.
