Any of you looking into generate leads for unfair bank charges?

The High Court is set to hand down it's Judgment this week and it's going to be some of the biggest financial news this year. The leads may feel like they are two a penny to generate because your target market is everyone, but we, (Claims Financial), still want them and can offer 15% on fees for each case. This is about £70 per case

Our conversion rate from lead to being engaged is about 30% (many higher, some a bit lower), and you can get these leads off thank you pages, email campaigns or wherever else because your target market is everyone.

Please get in touch if you plan to jump in to this impending gold rush.

I tell you what. I'll use you guys as a consumer if the High Court comes out in favour of the consumer (it'll probably go to appeal). Lloyds TSB has charged me hundreds of pounds for exceeding an overdraft limit over the last year, average costs over £200 a month for no less than four months, so yes I'd love my money back.

Couldnt be arsed, rang them told them I wanted the charge removing from the account and the money back or im off

Nice appology and bank charge removed, happy days - still with them today

The banks usually do give you your charges back if its the first time, its if it happens more than once that they refuse to do it. A lot of people say that if it happens more than once, then you should manage your money better but its often not the case. A lot of charges are due to mistakes, especially with direct debits.

In my own case, I had a company take out a direct debit a month too early, so they effectively weren't authorised to do it. Because I wasn't expecting the amount to come out, and didn't realise straight away, I had about 6 lots of charges as it had a knock on effect with everything else bouncing. I thought it would be fine because of the "direct debit guarantee", but the bank just laughed when I said I was going to use it, and told me it's not worth the paper it's written on and is meaningless. In the end I had to go through the courts to get the charges back (with interest on top ).

I 've had two charges now when my bank balance has told me I've got a tenner left to take out, but my actual balance is a little lower because I used my card up to 24 hours earlier therefore running my account into unauthorised overdraft.

When I phoned up saying their screens told me I was actually allowed to withdraw my money, they told me I should be checking my receipts and keeping a running counter in my own head as the on-screen balance can be delayed. Unbelievable. Now I just take out my cash and leave the card at home.

That reminds me actually of another wierd problem that happens to me fairly frequently.

When I make a payment using my debit card, often it takes the amount out twice. This then leaves me with less money than I think, which in the past when I had no savings used to mean i`d go overdrawn. After a couple of days, the money for the second transaction would go back in, so i`d only been charged once, but by then the damage was done.

The bank have never been able to explain it, and deny it happens even when shown proof on their own mini statements (doesn't happen for long enough to appear on a normal monthly statement, but does show on the ATM mini statements). Still happens now, but its not consistent and theres no telling when its going to happen. Doesn't cause me a problem now as thanks to my affiliate site I have a nice buffer amount in the bank, but used to cause me a lot of problems when I was in debt and every pound counted.

I have all my statements for the last 6 years, most have the 3 x £30 unauthorised overdraft fee each month £90 x 6 years x 12 months = a lot

I have a good 50 - 100 leads from about a year or so ago that were suspended because of this case with the program that went up on Greasypalm. Not forgotten about them yet, hoping that the consumer wins here and that I may finally get paid for the leads generated all that time ago..

Yes, thats what i`m looking forward to

I don't think thursday will be the end of it though, think its going to run on longer through appeals, can't see the banks giving up but we'll have to see.

The intention of my site has always been to help people out, I put the site online with all the guides to do it yourself before I thought about monetising it, but would be nice to get something back from it

Heard some real heart wrenching stories as well from my time running the site, from people who've quite literally had their lives ruined or suffered real hardship, so I really hope that the result goes to the consumer for their sakes as well.

Thanks for all the comments. Also, pleased to hear your success stories. The reality is, (High Court situation aside), people can do it themselves but our experience is that many simply can;t be bothered.

If you have any leads to generate please get in touch if its good news tomorrow.

Will the consumer win? I spoke with the money editor at the Daily telegraph yesterday, using us for case studies, and they certainly seem to be pitching their editorial at the consumr winning but not getting as high refunds as they would have done 12 months ago. Do they have a source?

Bank Charges: High Court To Rule On Overdraft Fees |Sky News|Business

Sky News tipping judgement to go against banks but warn floodgates will not immediately open as second hearing due.

First hearing shall determine a precedent, second shall become Case Law.

Keep me posted please when second hearing due. Banks gearing up to supply statements to customers dating back a long way (at £10 a statement, expensive if you want 3 years worth of records).
