I would set up a finance news blog with daily updates if you can. eg if the BoE changes the base rate, blog about it.
Then amongst the news articles, create a few posts with affiliate links, eg. A&L launch new 6% savings account - click here to apply. Or, Ocean Finance offer repayment holiday - click here to apply.
With that name you should rank pretty high for 'credit crunch'. Keep updating it, the traffic should increase and the commissions should start to roll in. Then, you can decide to re-invest your commissions into a PPC campaign.
The PPC campaign should generate extra commission and extra traffic to your site. As soon as you have a proven record of lots of traffic to the site, start contacting finance companies to ask if they would like to advertise on your site. Stick their banner ads around the site.
At this point you may even want to create a separate page to your blog with your own application form. Collect leads yourself and send them off to AMS or 123DS.
When you've made your millions, please send me a DB9 and a note saying 'thanks for the advice'. :tup

OK, not the last one.
Its probably just me, but if I was looking at a site called credit crunch, I would be looking at ways to reduce my outgoings and save munee.
I opt for Dazzer's suggestion.
In 2001 I registered a 'Recession 2002' domain name (and bought shares in Poundstretcher!) as was predicting what's happening now would happen six years back. Stupid me thought property prices and people's level of spending then were absurd and unsustainable. But the 'boom' continued and continued.
Ah well, the bigger the rise the harder the fall!
You could promote Asda's credit crunch busting 2p sausage and get the £5 sign up commission from Buy.at

I guess the easiest thing to do it look at creditcrunch.co.uk - seems to have it sewn up nicely.
Im curious to see how the site fares, is having a good name really enough to get above the big named sites in that 1st page?
GL!
You should definately look into getting news articles on there so people will spend more time on your site. Traffic is always the most important thing! I must say I like Dazzers adviceGood luck!
I'd probably stay clear from running a news site but make it a product offers site - each day feature a specific product to help beat the credit crunch.
