Hi,
I'm new to this forum having just launched a site to help small businesses compare banking services. We also provide access to insurance and other business services.
We've got some great commercial deals agreed with the banks for business we introduce but I'm keen to learn more about how we can improve the site and drive traffic to it. Would it make sense for us to become a merchant - we're happy to pay good %'s as commission. And how do we generate awareness from the business community - are there any tried and tested ways?
All ideas welcome, including how to generate responses from the forum - my first effort generated the grand total of 0!!
Look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers.
Rob

Hi Jay,
Thanks for taking the time to offer your suggestion. We've had a look into email marketing and we know a data company that can help us. At the moment the numbers don't seem to stack up based on sales funnel metrics, but this isn't to say it's not something we will try.
Cheers for your help.

Why not start of local, have you got a free directory in your area.
This sounds like it should be a content rich site and there is no easy solutions to producing the goods...
You want members you want sign ups and you have to offer information that is breaking and relevant ... the business sector is hardnosed and there are companies out there already delivering ...
I would think as has been suggested email and newsletter and rss feed campaigns must be essential, which although in the short term may not stack up for you, in the mid to long term that would seem like your best options ...
You don't have to dive in, you can do it inhouse for a while before it becomes overwhelming and you have enough unique members to let it grow..
Either way it is a full time commitment and no real easy options in this sector... IMO
