CCL info here : The Office of Fair Trading: Consumer credit licences

CCL was easy to get when I got one about 6-7 years ago, not sure now, am sure other with CCL's will post in the morning

DPL info here : Processing personal information - Data Protection Act (DPA) - ICO

DPL registration is straight forward, application and renewals are £35 per year so it's just a case of filling in the form and ticking so many boxes you'll lose the will to live

You can apply for the CCL online, cost is £725.00 and takes around 8 weeks at present, bear in mind you cannot legally trade until it is granted (not applied for).

Also be careful which aspects of the CCL you apply for, some need a visit so read all the FAQ's

If it was that cheap won't it run out soon? They used to only run for 5 years.

Also OP what are you looking to use the licence for? It’s now far trickier to get a licence for some activities, it’s not just a case of if you don’t rob grannies then you get a licence. They require information on experience and working practices, and in the most polite way possible I can’t imagine from your post that either of these things are at the require level.

Thanks for the response everyone. By doing some research, i find that i dont really need the CCL because i am not talking to the client at all. My role is confined to the internet. I am an internet marketer. I run websites/ aff programs and PPC campaigns. I get traffic to my sites, capture the person's contact info and pass it on to another insurance lead broker.

Regarding experience, i am running lead gen business in US markets since 3 years almost. But fairly new in the UK market as you can guess already. I have working websites advertising debt and insurance campaigns.

I still want to make sure that i don't break any laws.
