    Hi all

Another newbie here As someone who spent many days refreshing smingle's thread (didn't need any domains as I already have them but the tips were top notch :tup), I expect I'm in good company with you all.

I noticed a lot of you are using and recommending Easy Content Units. It looks impressive but having had a quick look at the site, I have a question about it which (surprisingly) isn't answered in their FAQs.

How does the 80/20 ad split work? Is it random hours allocated to them, or a random rotation of ads (e.g. first click your ad, second click theirs etc etc), or are they able to specify the period of time their ads are shown?

For example, I imagine the spending peaks to be around lunch time as people surf and buy at work, and then early evening after people are home and have eaten - if their 80/20 split allows them over 4hrs of ads in any 24hr period, they could theoretically have their ads showing for most of the shopping peaks of the day. Not saying they do, mind, but just interested in how this aspect works, and what kind of information/assurance is provided around it.

I would much prefer to pay a lump sum in advance and know that the work/effort I'm putting in is properly measurable (if their 20% of clicks result in sales, you presumably have no way of knowing/measuring this, and therefore may wrongly feel the site isn't performing as well as it actually is). I understand why they're going through the BETA stage first before allowing people to pay a one-off cost - I'd just like to know a little more about the 80/20 aspect before signing up so I can weigh up pros and cons when comparing with other datafeed providers.

Hope this makes sense, and someone can advise on how they're finding working with them (or any alternatives they would recommend).

    Thanks in advance

    Paul

John from ECU answered the 80/20 split question here http://www.affiliates4u.com/forums/a...tml#post474090

The system is set to display ECU links every fifth impression.

They show your link 8 times and theirs 2, based on each time the unit is shown as far as i am aware i.e 1 in 5.

    Thanks Keith!

If you have any other questions feel free to ask them here, or in a support ticket. We still have a little while to go in Beta before offering a 'Pro' version, no details have been set yet!

Thanks all for the quick responses - that's great! I assume your 'to do' list is enormous Jason, but maybe a line or two about this on your FAQs would be worhwhile.

I'm really impressed with what you've produced - looks perfect for someone in my position (newbie with a full-tine job and very limited time!) Will be doing a little more research into other options, but I'm sure I'll be signing up to give it a road-test soon - thanks in advance :tup

Our 'to do' list is pretty long aye!

If you need any help with ECU, just send me a message either here/via pm/a support ticket on ECU and I'll be happy to help out.
