Get a link into it from an established Google-indexed site, preferably one with high PR.

I know this topic has been on before, but haven't found any working advice. I launched a website about 4-5 weeks ago and it is still not indexed by Google.
Any idea what to do?
This site is in a good small niche, domain name made of 3 short words very smingle-like and the exact values for 'Global Monthly Search Volume' is 12 100. For March the value is 1 300 but this is because it should be peaking in the summer. Also the 'Advertiser Competition' is Average - which I think is good, but not too sure. What does this really mean?
Anyway, the main problem is how to make this site get indexed? Any help greatly appreciated.

How do I do that if I do not know who might have such a Google-indexed site?
I have another site which is older, but didn't have much on it for many months. This site got indexed in a week. It still does not have incoming links from anywhere. The two sites that I have are not related at all, so I could not link one to the other, it wouldn't make sense.
So, when you check indexing with: "site: URL", do you get nothing?
If you have followed smingle's advice on indexing site's (free website tools | seo tools | smingle) and its still not indexed, have you tried posting the site in your signature on a forum with a lot of traffic, e.g. A4U or indexing via Google: www.google.co.uk/addurl/?continue=/addurl? or submitting a sitemap to Google?
If this doesn't work, then have you accidentally excluded the site from being crawled by search engines in a robots.txt or a .htaccess file?
Miracle (28-04-09)
I get "url did not match any documents".
Thanks a lot! I had read something else on smingle's site but had not read this. I had seen gumtree before, but I was still building my sites then and ... to be honest, I could not figure out what exactly to do on gumtree in order to advertise websites :blush:blush. I will spend time looking, thanks a lot!!
Is it a wordpress site ??
If so, make sure to change the Privacy Setting to
"I would like my blog to be visible to everyone, including search engines (like Google, Sphere, Technorati) and archivers"

I sumbitted my site to digg.com today at 11:30. I just found that 2 hours ago I had a visitor from MSN search engine. They searched for 2 of my key words and found my site in the MSN search results on page 2 at number 17 for only 2 of my key words.
Google doesnt know my site yet, but MSN does. Google must be having an afternoon nap.
It gets better - I found that my site is number 1 in MSN organic search results when searching for all 3 keywords. Now that's good.
To be honest, I had never checked if my site appeared on MSN until I got a visitor from there today, so I don't know when they indexed it. But... nice, I'm impressed
PS. I checked, my site was indexed and cached by MSN today.
Well done.
Check Yahoo too.
