Sorry I didn't reply sooner, for some reason this forum wouldn't load past the banner ad when logged in.. until now!

I'm also chuffed to bits that you like our service so much :-), we do struggle to get across how useful it really is and glad that you have helped point this out on the forum.

Fingers crossed for the extra business hey!, not sure if your developer would be interested but there is a gap in the market to provide iCodes webservices intallations on affiliate websites... a wordpress plugin would be very popular :-)

    Thanks

I'm struggling to get your rationale - with a rev share, you basically get all the technology, the infrastructure, etc, in other words all the hard work is done for you. The fact you "give up" a percentage of your earnings isn't a downside. If you tried to do all this work by yourself, that's when it would cost you a fortune and it would be much longer before you started making money.

I'm also struggling somewhere with your reasoning :-)

It is a downside if the user has to give up 20% of their busy sites commission when they could have chosen to just pay a £49 a year flat fee.. surely?

Irrelevant of if they paid via rev share or flat fee the service would be exactly the same, so why would a rev share and not a flat fee give them 'all the technology and the infastructure etc..'

I agree if the user had to do all this themselves it would cost them a fortune in time and money.. but they don't and they get it all given to them for a flat fee.

Obviously we would be better off ourselves if we charged a rev share at the moment, but I would rather build up a massive userbase at an extremely affordable price, then when the biggest percentage of affiliates are using the system we will make it 100% free for them (not increase the prices), then charge another source such as merchants or networks to use the services instead.

At the moment we don't carry that weight, but at the rate we are growing and in time we will.

Affiliates lose enough commission as it is in affiliate marketing, so when we can afford to make it 100% free (no flat fee or rev share) thats when ill be satisfied :-)

don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting that you should change your offering or anything, it's more on a generic level I'm discussing. Indeed, a small flat fee could be more cost effective, especially when you're getting started. But, at the end of the day, we are in a performance based industry, so I think it's only fair the provider of the technology gets to benefit from the success they helped create. And, least we forget, once you're successful, you have more negotiation power :-)

Yeah, thats what we're trying to do really, bide our time to get more negotiation power, but it's not the affiliates im wanting to negotiate with :-)

Sorry I was unable to respond to your post sooner but I have been up in the Highlands of Scotland.....no internet, no mobile phone, no landline.....splendid isolation. Apart from the effing midges.

I will speak to my Developer about the possibility of offering an iCodes Integration Service. My first thoughts are that he would probably only be interested in the big ticket stuff. He's not cheap. He is doing work for me on "mates rates" because we worked together for 3 years. That said he has a bit of a network of Developers and Designers so he may be able to suggest something.

Right I am off to put some after sun on what is left of my skin. Might be better just going straight to Casualty.

When you sign up for their White Label does that include all the out of date codes, blind alleys and useless customer journeys (both used to build up their page impressions)?
