Have a look at iCodes - Voucher Code and Offers Database accessed via webservices or hostted ready made websites. mate.

I am trying to find out if anyone out here in the ether can give me some guidance on choosing a provider of white label voucher codes. It was my intention to do it manually but someone mentioned on the forum recently that a white label may be a possible solution.
Ideally it would allow me to incorporate it into the centre of my Discounts page.
How much would this type of solution cost me and what would be the return (obviously traffic dependent)?
My site is not a discount site and discount codes would not be the only source of income.
Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Thanks for getting back to me. You are the second person to suggest iCodes. I will drop them a line.
Many thanks

hey may i jump in?
im playing around on this domain: yousavemoney.co.uk and am scraping the promotions.co.uk database - is the iCodes API completely different or is it using the same voucher codes?
i guess if its different i could scrape in iCodes too
didnt bother with a white label - enjoying designing my own from scratch!

Hi wilsonf1
I've no idea what codes are included in the promotions.co.uk feed as i've never looked at it but should imagine they are taken from the same sources and so should be pretty much the same.
Our feed includes all the valid codes from across 10 networks and also includes...
Titles
Descriptions
Logos
Start dates
Expiry dates
Deeplinks (if applicable)
Your unique affiliate url including click refs and affiliate id's
Merchant url
Merchant id / Programme id
Merchant name
Network name
Category (each code is categorised rather than each merchant which makes it far more accurate)
Our feed can be downloaded in csv or xml, the xml version can also be used live and so can pull a feed relevant to a request for example.., dixons codes, merchants beginning with... , merchants without codes, voucher codes in 'clothing and footwear', merchants who sell chairs etc..
The feeds are unique to each user and include just the merchants you are approved to or merchant you want in a particular feed, or even all merchants irrelevant if you're approved to them or not... its upto you.
You can enter your own exclusive codes which only go in your feed, if a merchant is not in our database you can easily include it.
As the feed includes your unique built affiliate url it does not have to pass via our system and so 100% transparent and so all commission is 100% yours and is recorded via your own network account.
The feed also includes around 2000 valid promotional offers.
Flat fee of only £49 per year, unlimited use. http://webservices.icodes.co.uk/

I've just done quite a few searches on your website and it appears loads of valid voucher codes seem to be missing which are including in our feed, however to be fair I didn't check the otherway round but im pretty confident we have all the codes from the 10 networks we support.

do you not offer any free services that have a commission split or anything?
its not worth me paying for anything yet. I lack traffic and this project seems to be a slow burner for me until something drastic happens.... as everyone says . voucher codes seems to be a full market on the web!

We do have plans to offer a free webservices split 70 / 30 in your favour and your choice of merchants in your 70% but thats not available yet.
£49 per year is less than £1 per week which is pretty near free as it is.
Voucher codes are not a full market on the web, far from it, thats just like saying google ads are a full market on the web... voucher code directory sites maybe a full market though, but if you're just planning to set up a voucher code site with no other added value, no content and no real site structure or navigation then you won't have a cat in hells chance of making any money unless you promote it extremely heavily or have the luck of a lottery winner.
Its not really worth us having a commission split on a site with no traffic and no potential really :-(
We do offer a free hosted voucher and offer directory site like Prices UK Discount Codes and Special Offers which you can alter to make it look unique, add custom pages and content to give it a fighting chance, but if you don't promote it or add something unique and useful that won't make any money either.

I am amazed by how many people on the forum want something for nothing. The iCodes software is incredibly reasonably priced. An investment of £49 is peanuts. If you consider the hassle and grief involved in managing a code site £49 is exceptional value.
iCodes also has the age old issue: if you charge nothing people do not think it is worth anything.

I am struggling to get my head round Simon1984's post. Surely if you are entering into a revenue share the service is not free as you pay for it by giving up a percentage of the income generated. In actual fact you could end up paying a small fortune if you are successful.
Apologies if my comment seems naive.
The good thing about rev share is that if your site ends up being a failure it wont cost you anything, but if its a success it could cost you a fortune.
Another problem with rev share is that its not very transparent, im only guessing here but would all the links have to go via the providers site then you have to trust them to pay your share?
I wonder who would choose the risk of revenue share over a flat fee of 94p a week
I've spent the last couple of days revamping our site, not to make it look pretty, but to make it more understandable with what we have on offer by re-organizing, de-cluttering and simplifying it.. http://www.icodes.co.uk/

Have you thought about releasing the code behind the webservices for a premium fee to allow people to take over the running and handling of the data themselves?
You've done the hard work here but some guys might like a little added security of taking things totally in house....
I've not looked into whats required to take all the feeds and turn them into a service like yours but I can imagine its not easy
I think you've got a cracking service here and for a nominal fee its worth every penny. Way better than having to take a revenue share!

I've not thought of that exactly but what did cross my mind is to sell the complete coding to anyone who wanted to offer the same services in other countries, but we may just do this ourselves.
The coding is extremely complex but mainly due to the hosted sites being customizable and being unique to each affiliate, yet still sharing the same set of files (although we have well over a hundred icodes hosted sites on different domain names they are infact one site)... compared to that the webservices was a doddle :-)
Wouldn't it defeat the object of iCodes if someone simply took over the data handling themselves though? They may aswell just buy a voucher code site with an admin area to input their own data, I'm pretty sure thats already available somewhere.
If we did offer the webservices coding for sale to be used in the UK then it would have to be pretty expensive due to the competition it would generate... always open to offers though.
EDIT // oh I think i see what you mean... host the complete webservices coding yourself, yet still populate your database using our feeds and that way you have 100% control and so feel more secure, I can see how large companies may want to have that as an option.

My Developer has been playing around with iCodes for the last couple of days and it is now pretty much installed on my site. The customisation element has meant that the look and feel has not been compromised. I am chuffed to bits with it.
Thank you to Barry for putting me onto iCodes in the first place and an even bigger thank you to Lee for developing this brilliant bit of software.
All I need to do now is work out if less is more or more is more.
Also Lee I have been discussing with my Developer the various ways he could use it to add value to some of the other sites he runs. So I will hopefully get you some more business.
