I'm Alex, sorry if there is a "noobies post here" bit somewhere! Didn't see it :S

Right, similar to many people on this forum, i've read "quite" abit about affiliate marketing on various different sites all over the place. I'm NOW going to attempt and hopefully one day succeed in making a small income (well hopefully a large income one day) in doing this.

However, I'm the worst person ever when it comes to organisation... which im wondering if this will be my down fall... Does anyone have any organisation tips... When i was at school/college my organisation let me down and before I let the same happen here, please help .

Do you document offline + Online? Is there software you use to document income/expenditure?

There are quality posts i've been reading on this forum, and I hope to emulate you all one day

    Cheers

    Alex

I have a question on content

When you find what you consider to be a "niche" do you then research the niche, and then write anything about the niche?

So say you create a site focusing on broad range of one product, for instance fireplaces, do you then read as much info on fireplaces so that you can then build up the content of your website and then add a "fireplace" here and there? :/

I've seen price comparisons of "1" product.

Also, say you do focus on 1 particular brand of this item, is it best to do a price comparison?

Another thing - where do I get the images from? (silly question iI know...but in terms of copyright etc...)

(sorry if my grammar/spelling is shocking, brains dead from reading for the last 7 days)

    Cheers,

    Alex

You can get the images off the merchant's website, e.g. use Comet's images for a DVD player (as long as you're promoting Comet of course!!)

Another way to look for niches is to look what merchants an Affiliate Network has available, so get one site up and but some content on the home page, then join the networks and you can see what you can promote, plus you get stats like EPC, Affiliate Window has the Awin performance index too, I recommend joining Awin, here's a list of the networks for you:

    cheers, good advice.

Another question, say for instance you have amazon as an affilate, you can target any product right?

and another, can you do a price comparison for loads of different companies.
    i.e "argos, amazon, tesco" etc?

    thank you

Yes, you can target pretty much any product on Amazon, although Commission structures according to sector I believe.

Yes, you can do price comparison, see:

Hey Alex, welcome to the forum. Don't worry - we don't fence Newbies in anywhere!

You should be able to use your domain as soon as it's propagated - this can take anything from 5 minutes to 24 hours.

Finding niches is just a case thinking a little outside the box - Check out "the" thread (http://www.affiliates4u.com/forums/a...de-2009-a.html) for everything you need to know to get started earning some dosh.

Quick plug for Easy Content Units, which is my baby - It'll help you find out who sells what products quickly, includes the images for every product and will enable you to offer price comparison for most products.

Finally, don't over-analyse everything. You'll learn much quicker by making a few mistakes and trying stuff out for yourself. AM isn't rocket science, but you do need a certain mind-set I think.
