    Hi folks,
when searching for affiliate programs to promote online it is always hard to tell which ones are good and let you make some money seriously.
How can I best choose, which criteria applies or does anyone have a winning strategy?

    thanks,
    Nirusan

    Use a network.

Use a network that shows stats for merchants including reversal rates.

Use a network rather than independents.

Don't sign up for anything that promises you it's easy.

    Affiliate marketing is not easy.

Affiliate Window shows stats, Webgains, Paid on results do, CJ, TD

Once you've got them working for you move on to others maybe.

But don't fall for these silly ebook scams where they'll show you the secrets of blahblahblah. It's all available online for free the stuff you need to know.

And don't forget to register as self-employed once you start. It's not free money, it's very taxable.

Think Mogga has it spot on. Use networks when your getting started although as iv done myself you might end up signing deals direct with merchant for more £££'s when they see your providing a decent amount of quality traffic. That's all in the future though at the moment just focus on learning the basics.

Why not have a think yourself? What kind of things have you bought/done online? Any hobbies you think you could capitalize on?

Try to find a niche where its possible to earn money off PPC first. SEO can take the best part of a year to get spot on and PPC can be earning you a healthy income after a month of tinkering. Start slowly perhaps £20 per week and invest your profits into allowing more money for PPC until your running adverts every hour of every day of the week.

While your doing that start a decent website perhaps a Wordpress site to capture lots of smaller keywords if that floats ya boat. Or if applicable create a far smaller site with loads of inbound links to target one healthy keyword.

In a years time id be aiming to own one healthy website pulling in its own visitors and a healthy PPC account to boot. Its at this time you'll be thinking of going to merchants directly to get more % and a better payment plan.

Course this is the way i do it. Others have their own strategy and none of us are wrong once it earns a decent wage to spend on alcohol women & drugs lmao :drool

speak to affiliate managers, its our job to help affiliates.

learn about google analytics and all the measurements in affiliate marketing - CTR, Conversion rates, epc - affiliate marketing like any business is about numbers, you got to learn how each on affects your returns and what you can do to improve these stats

learn PHP, HTML and simple coding - i wish i know this or i wouldn't have spunked a load getting new sites setup

Learn SEO, whilst PPC is really cool and can work, SEO is the slow burner that will ensure you have a stable income via affiliate marketing, I'd personally then suppliment this with PPC, but I'd always keep one site as a bread winner ticking over in the back ground.

be entrepreneurial in affiliate marketing you are working for your self, how successful you depends on how good you are at spotting a niche or new opportunity.
