Can anyone advise what I should do about changing the title tags on my new Wordpress site? I went to download the SEO title tag plugin, but it gave me a rather scary warning about it not having been tested with the version of Wordpress that I am using (2.8 I think, but the pugin only goes up to 2.7).

Is it still ok to use this plugin with Wordpress 2.8 or is there a more up to date version?

Or is there another way of changing title tags? I've spent all afternoon trying to figure this out!

Any help would be very very gratefuly recieved.

If you mean this plug-in WordPress › All in One SEO Pack WordPress Plugins then you will be fine. We have it working with no problems on version 2.8.4

Thank you both so much - I was really tearing my hair out back then.

I've managed to download the All in One SEO plugin and am going to have a play about with it later.

    Thanks again!

I have 3 sites (soon to be 4!) running this and all have been fine. WP just had a recent update so maybe the plugin people have not updated theirs yet.

Little tip: You might find the plugins "my link order" and "my catagory order" really useful so you can put links in any order you like. I would be lost without them.

Oh, the visitor stats plug-in lies BTW (the one that shows the graph on your dashboard), so may be better to get Cystats or something else. Cystats, if it is to be believed, will tell you if it is real people or bots visiting your site, bounce rate, referers etc, which is useful.

All in one SEO is awesome, really recommend using it if you're looking for a way to SEO a wordpress site, also don't forget to alter your permalink structure.

    Barbara,

Have a look at Headspace 2 - WordPress › HeadSpace2 SEO WordPress Plugins

It's a very nice solution to what you're trying to do.

It's mentioned in the article referenced above.
