    Hi,

I am just putting setting up my first site: VacuumSales.co.uk - Cheap Vacuum, Hoover and Accessories Sales

Does anyone use EasyContentUnits. (easycontentunits.com : Home) I've been advised to use them but I'm not totally sure what they are. Does anyone have any examples please.

    Hi Liquidlunch,

ECU is a way of showcasing products from all the networks, which automatically inserts your affiliate deeplink, product images etc, and makes it easier to find products.

You can see loads of examples of people using ECU on this page: Showcase | Easy Content Units

For your Vacuum Sales site, you could search ECU by model number and add those products to a unit, thus creating a price comparison unit, or you could search for "dyson vacuum" and simply showcase the various models sold by make..

Then there's bestselling units - if your merchants can tell you what models are selling, you can add those to a unit..

The easiest way to learn how ECU works is to have a play with creating and amending units - You can't break anything, and you'll soon see how easy it is to create brilliant looking units that convert well above industry averages.

And if you need anything at all, hit a brick wall with them or just get stuck, don't hesitate to shout, either by support ticket on ECU, PM on here, email (john@easycontentunits.com), or msn john@bigideamedia.com

I can easily say i thoroughly recommend you give ECU a go. The tool is great, the support is great and it has taken my, so far, short lived affiliate career to the next level.

With many features allowing you to customize the units how you want to fit with your site perfectly. They will display any products you choose and keep the prices up to date so if youre not to techy yet they do the hard work for you.

Im a very happy ECU user.

    Hi,

I've just started using Easy Content Units today actually. And I've found it really easy to set up.

I was wondering how to avoid having to put up too many unique or specific ads for each merchant on one product. I know that if I'm looking for a particular product, there are a number of obvious retailers to choose from and I'll look manually. If I only show one or two of the most popular, I risk losing out to those who might go elsewhere to check the price.

Still, I've only been using it today and I need to see some sales come in first (the site is fairly new so lowish in rankings for some keywords). But so far, so good :tup

    Hi Signia,

Jason wrote a blog post this morning about using Price Comparison via ECU - don't know whether that helps you?

How to Use ECU for Price Comparison | Easy Content Units

Don't hesitate to shout if not - If you want to send in a support ticket with your URL, then we can check your layouts/products added etc are all ok.

    Cheers,

    Thanks John,

I did suss it out yesterday. Just played around with the layouts detail so it just used the merchant logo, price and a more info button. My ECUs look more like the one on the blog post so I must have done it right

Even added a you-tube vid to one yesterday. Brilliant.

I'll use ECU more now, rather than have multiple merchants' boxes dotted throughout the page. Although I do like how Amazon offer nice flash widgets with rotating product images and mouseover pricing etc. Perhaps something for the future for ECU?

Liquidlunch - it's definitely worth having a play if you don't mind the 80/20 split. I've only just started with this form of AM so 80% of something is better than 100% of nothing!

Yes, we probably will offer carousels and other flash ways of displaying the products eventually, however that will be a long, long way off - They may look swish, but they actually don't convert as well as static units, and we've already got a to-do list that will keep up busy for the next couple of years - it's on there, but not a priority tbh

Although not as flexible perhaps AWIN has content units so if it's solely one merchant on AWIN you want one for you can get 100%
