Do others from the same forum show up?
Anyone know how to index backlinks in Google?
I've recently aquired some forum profile backlinks but they are not showing up anywhere.
Anyone know how to get them listed?
Thanks.
Google does not show backlinks of any page that is pr3 or less.....even though they use them for ranking purposes. Use yahoo site explorer and then use a mass pr checker.....if the link linking to you don't have enough juice then link to those pages....tip of the day
Personally why bother if you dont rank then you need more links and more powerful links with better anchor text

I just ping copy the list of URLs and ping each one, they arent worth spending any more time on than that. They do work - as I've said plenty of times, but it is a complete waste of time thinking that by buying some profile backlinks your site is going to magically start ranking for its keywords - it wont. They should be used as part of a larger link building campaign.

I pinged the list using this: RSS Submission Form a while ago.
Nothing is showing up. Just wondering if there was a better way of doing it.
Hey Seamaster,
I've recently been testing out profile links and their use as backlinks to my sites. Like you say its difficult to get any of these links actually indexed and for obvious reasons really... why would google want to index a page which is a profile which has nothing much on it like all the other profiles for that forum apart from a link thrown in? I have had more luck getting profiles indexed when they are properly completed. If you are outsourcing this work get your profile builder to fill all the fields in and especially the signature/bio field, a nice chunk of text in there about your site (mentioning other keywords) and also including your backlink has massively increased the indexing of my profiles pages as your profile now has some substance giving google a reason to index. Another good thing to do is record all the forums and locations that do actually end up getting indexed and use this list for future profiles.
Hope this helps you out. Let me know if works for you.

Please search for Gold Pendant at Google.co.uk
A couple of Paul and Angela backlinks, a bit of content and 2 links from other jewellery related pages and my affiliate competition site ranks 1st or 2nd for the search term
Unfortunally it doesnt make any money
Paul and Angela links will help your site moving up the Serps but as you said, more is needed for difficult terms and competitive niches.
A bit off topic, but Shane, I did a search for the term Gold locket, which I believe you had a site about?
the 5th/6th result on page one is goldlocket.co.uk, a website without any content or backlinks!?
Why waste your time on buying backlinks and writing content, just buy that domain and your done![]()
How much would that cost?
Still waiting for them to show up in backlinkwatch.com but one of my sites has jumped right up the SERPS since getting the links although only a couple are showing up anywhere as being indexed.
Who told you that?
Linking to pages linking to you is a complete waste of time and money if the links are garbage links in the first place, which they obviously are here if they are forum profile pages.
Seamaster - if you're concentrating on building rubbish links, you'd be better just waiting first and seeing if they get indexed themselves naturally. Depending on the forum, how many pages it has, how deep the profile pages themselves are and so on, it could be weeks/months.
Really to be honest I think any improvement to this link building method would be nothing more than polishing a turd - its still going to be a turd insideI'd rather have one real, editorially placed link than 100 spammed forum ones that are going to:
- Probably not even get indexed a lot of the time
- Be completely off topic
- Be in bad neighbourhoods from all the viagra, porn and casino spammers using your same approach
- Not work for weeks/months (if at all)
- Make your link profile look awful and leave you open to penalties
- Then if somehow it does work, anyone with $20 and a digitalpoint account can just copy your backlink profile anyway
True, true. But I'm just not sure how to get links any other way (apart from blog commenting which seems equally as lame).
Blog commenting is in the same sort of area, yeah. The big problem with that one is you could spend 15mins writing a nice comment and get a good link. Then next hour/week/year someone comes along and leaves a comment that consists of nothing but 50+ "buy levitra" links and the blog owner decides he's had enough and nofollows every single comment with one plugin install. Or even if the blog owner does nothing, Google realises the site is being spammed and penalises it. It doesn't even have to be an obvious penalty, they can simply strip a sites ability to pass pagerank, without killing its rankings (the penalty I suspect more than 1 UK newspaper currently has)>
If you're building legit backlinks from writing guest posts for people, giving them infographics or something then no matter what happens further down the line (other than the site closing altogether) your links are 99% to stay live forever.
I ping them with pingomatic.com![]()
