I've recently been having success with PPC for the first time ever (yay me!) but I'm a bit confused about a few of the sales.

One particular click is responsible for six sales. Great, you might say, but it appears to be a little odd.

They are the same amount of commission each time so I'm suspecting it's likely the same product. This is something you would only buy one of for you or your family.

Two sales on the day of the click 15 minutes apart.
Two sales the next day 5 minutes apart.
Another two sales two days after that 15 minutes apart.

I'm assuming this is some kind of error, but why or how might this occur? Surely at least the first sale is valid?

high probability that the merchant has been cookied and this is orders placed by their customer service. Speak with the network, they can see IP and check with the merchant too.

Maybe the confirmation page showed an error to the user, so waiting for payment then error BUT the payment went through, so they went back tried again another error but again payment went through.

Or it could be no error but a massive lag in processing details, once again user gets bored or thinks something is wrong, goes back try's again.

I've seen this happen before, not saying it is it but could be!

Thanks for your reply. Perhaps I'm being naive, but isn't this likely to be picked up by the merchant anyway? I'm still relatively new to this - is it bad form for me not to point this out if I've noticed it, even if it's likely to do me out of commission?

These things usually get picked up when the sales are approved or rejected.

I've got in touch with the network. Thought it best to get things sorted early.

I thought I'd update this in case anyone was interested. Turned out they were all valid sales! I'm glad I got in touch with the network as it stopped me worrying that they might get cancelled.

Good to hear! I honestly thought it would be a tracking error or depending on the product, fraud transactions. In my experience many sales from one click normally comes down to fraud or tracking issue. Congratss, bet it was a shock when you looked at your stats to see a flurry of sales from PPC, especially if you havnt got it to work for you in the past. PPC is a pain in the nect when its not working for you but when you get it right it's like a mini gold mine. Eventually the gold will dry up once the keyword becomes uncompetative but thats why you need to keep drilling for more. I always have an acceptable burn budget for PPC that I always stick to. Its too easy to get carried away after a little success and waste a lot more on expanding your keyword range too quickly.

Really glad its going well for you, and congratts on the multi sales
