Definitely search engines and referrals (through RSS feed mainly)

Content with following

1. Keyword rich content (news, blogs, forums, articles etc) on most discussed subjects around the world

2. Web 2.0 compliant site with a high level of user interaction enabled (comment, rating & discussion threads, facebook plug-in etc)

3. Good SEO

4. Association with some good sites at the start (unless it has got its own google credibility)

Some good advice here. It does depend on what type of site you have to really make the most of it.

If you have the opportunity to create and host some engaging content link to it on multiple sites/blogs/social network pages.

We can't really go into detail though if you don't tell us a little about your website and the purpose it serves.
