What Product to Promote?!?

Hi Guys,

So I have just bought my new domain name london-bed.com having seen that there is quite a bit of search activity on these terms it felt like a sensible purchase!

Now however I am having the dilemma of whether this should be hotel or beds focussed. Looking at the SERP's there is a good mixture of both types of companies. I have dabbled in Beds but not totally convinced this is appropriate.

Any thoughts and recommendations?

I don't think there is an easy answer.

From the perspective of someone searching for topics around 'london bed' I would think they are either looking for a bed supplier in london or accommodation in and around london.

It then depends upon which topic you think you can affiliate best. Are there lots of affiliate programs for london based bed providers? Are there many cross selling opportunites, e.g., duvet providers in london? Which type of site do you feel better able to create (product based or service based)? Etc.

I would guess that this is a result of google instant. searching london bed may make bed and breakfast websites automatically come up.

I would use it as accommodation, because the geo aspect of London is more relevant there. I don't feel the domain is doing you that many favours anyway, but it's an OK general purpose name for London accommodation.

Note either sector has potential.

I would tend to agree. My gut feeling is that you would get more milage out of accommodation.

In Google's eye, London bed relates to accomodation like 1 bed, 3 bed, rent london, 2 bed london, accomodation london etc so if you want to rank for 'London Bed' make sure you use the LSI terms I mentioned here in your web copy.
