    Hi Roy,

Good luck with your new project.

My advice would be to take your time, do plenty of research and don't rush into anything. It's easy to get carried away when you first get started in affiliate marketing - but it's best to keep it simple to start with.

Also keep a tight grip on the wallet and don't fall for 'guru' based tuts/methods.

I second this statement - do some research roy, seo and building a website is actually quite a logical thing. There are no quick fixes or get rich quick schemes, just hard, logical work!

Btw are you an ex-pat?... Now there's a great niche right there! Blog about your experiences and build a site around that (-:

My advice is do not go into this thinking it is a get rich quick scheme. Cos it aint. You may have come across various blogs claiming their owner makes 'thousands' per day while he sleeps. Ignore them.

AM means you will be probably working 18 hours per day, 7 days per week for the next 2 years for very little (or no reward). That is the harsh reality.

There is no quick fix and there are no shortcuts.

If this is not what you wanted to hear then please leave now and save yourself the time and effort.

If however you are ready to learn, work hard, and show real dedication and determination (even when your efforts seem in vain) then welcome.

    You're in for a hell of a ride : )

    Good luck

I absolutely agree that it will take time and plenty of effort to get income. AM for me is a huge learning curve and it gives me pleasure that I can learn something new which makes me money. So if you like learning and see the rewards from your hard work then AM could be for you. But it is not a get rich quick job. And yes you will probably be working long hours, 7days a week.

It's certainly a good feeling when you build a great website that regularly makes money, but it takes a lot of effort not only to build such a site, but to promote it to ensure you get the traffic/sales. This forum is a great place to learn, I've also recently created a guide on how to setup a Niche website using wordpress that may help, see my signature.

    Good luck.

My advice would be don't get sucked into signing up for everything, choose what products you want to promote and stick with them. Getting people to see your offers is the difficult bit. There are lots of places to get free advertising that are very good, but be sure to advertise in the right sections too, I would personally stay away from paid to click sites, the people looking at your offers are trying to sell you theirs. Concentrate on quality offers and start to get an emaillist going, it has been proved that most people have to see things at least 5 times before they buy so when they don't buy the first time offer a free report or ebook etc. make sure
they are revlevant and current, keep them updated and also give good advice and help with tools etc. When they buy they will be more likely to buy from you if they trust you, and they are more likely to be repeat customers too.
