    Hi,

Want to do a site where people can submit deals. How can I get the affiliate link to be automatically set for the retailer that they choose?

    Thanks in advance

    Jon

I noticed with say hotukdeals.com that when you submit a deal it automatically has the correct affiliate link set up for that product. Just wondering how something like that was done.

Also noticed the same on postabargain.co.uk

    Thanks

    Jon

Im guesssing these are being picked up using a combination of Affiliate Window, Amazon & Ebays api services.

It looks like an interesting model.

Using your example and the likes of hotukdeals they have within the members submission area a drop down to select the retailer with the offer.

To simply put it they have a database with the necessary affiliate codes for each retailer and then when the user submits the link to the deal the script will append this information onto the end of the affiliate link, auto creating a deep link.

Fairly easy to create with a bit of coding.

The alternative if you do not have the necessary skills etc. is to use something like skimlinks which is a service that will convert normal links into affiliate links through a simple piece of code on your site, they charge a cut of the commission for using the service but for something to start with, without the hassle it may be worth a look.

As darrenb mentions I would recommend using Skimlinks to start off. It should act as a big time saver whilst you look to grow site traffic etc.

Although if you are a bit of a tight wad ( as I am ) you could bone up on Javascript and/or Apache's mod_rewrite. There are a lot of examples on the web.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the replies.

I will check out Skimlinks. Found this on the internet about adding affliate links to links automatically. Anyone know if this would work?

Also there was this site as well.

    Thanks

    Jon

I may bhe mistaken but I assume that the InfoPint solution would only allow you to integrate this across one network at a time?
