Best forums and blogs for internet marketing newbies??

Hi there - any views on which forums (apart from this one of course!) and blogs are most helpful for someone starting out in internet marketing?? There's so many, it's a bit of a minefield sorting out the wheat from the chaff!

Hey,

Slightly surprised no one has replied to this yet! There is a lot out there, but I'd suggest that you keep searching until you find exactly what you're looking for.

I work merchant side, so may not be the best person to recommend anything.

For blogs, I suppose two of the most popular would be Kirsty's Affiliate Stuff (lot's of good stuff on there for beginners) and possibly Geno Prussakov's blog (a bit more in depth, but updated regularly)

The IAB have a helpful section on their site for affiliate marketing which might be worth a read

One of the best things I did when starting in the industry, was to follow some of the 'experts' on Twitter. I found that for a vast majority of sites, there might only be one or two things worth reading. By following the right people on Twitter I could see all those links I was interested in, without having to sift through the other stuff that wasn't useful.

As far as dedicated forums go, this seems to be the main one.

Another thing to keep in mind, is that there doesn't seem to be that many 'rules' when it comes to affiliate marketing. If you find something that works for you, stick with it and don't believe everything you read!
